The plant is an upright rosette to about twenty four inches tall, with broad leaves of chocolate brown, tinted burgundy on the underside and grayish above, with silver banding. The inflorescence is a pyramidal spike of crimson bracts with red and yellow branches. Very showy and long lasting in bloom.
