From the Mallyan Spout we climb the steps at the side of the hotel and cut across the moor to meet the Lyke Wake Walk route and head east towards the ancient burial mound at Simon Howe

The walk takes you across Roulston Scar

Once in Whitby we head towards the old town and meander through the narrow streets

and finish the day with a trip down memory lane and call in at Scripps Garage and the Aidensfield Store

The Wainstones and Urra Moor How many People:Saturday 3rd September From the Mallyan Spout weThis is an 8 mile (13km) 4 5 hour circular walk which starts from Chop Gate village hall car park (TS9 7JW). We meet up at the carpark at 10am for a 10. 30 start. The walk takes us from the village up Cold Moor to the intersection with the Cleveland Way (CW) and some great views across the moors and north into Teesside. On a clear day we will see Roseberry Topping and Captain Cooks Monument in the far distance. We turn right and follow the CW across
